Director David Fincher @ The Charlie Rose Show

Director David Fincher and Brad Pitt of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button discuss their new film - based on F. Scott Fitzgerald short story published in May 1922 - on Charlie Rose show. My editor on Borland - Tyler Nelson - was the assistant editor on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, so can't wait to see it.

Benjamin Button is a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards: a man, like any of us, who is unable to stop time. From New Orleans at the end of World War I in 1918, into the 21st century, on a journey as unusual as any man's life can be, this is the grand tale of a not so ordinary man and the people and places he discovers along the way, the loves he finds and loses, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.

RR Watch: Kissed By Season - Short Film

I'm lacking content for today's posting, so I thought about my old short film - Kissed By Season - oy vay!. It premiered at The Samuel Goldwyn Theater @ the Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Wednesday, September 20, 2000 @ 7:30pm and screened at festivals with a running time of 8 minutes, but I've included a shorter version with TRT of 2 minutes.

Kissed By Season is a visual drama that follows the final moments of a family on Thanksgiving night. An argument between a husband and wife escalate as a flat tire and an empty diner serve as the catalysts for the story. The film is a story about forgiveness and self-redemption for not doing enough--and going too far--for the love of a child.

Brad Pitt Humps Rolling Stone

Academy award nominee Brad Pitt graces the cover and pages of Rolling Stone to promote Director David Fincher's family film - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The Rolling Stone issue is out Friday and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button opens Christmas Day - December 25.

On his future as an artist: I have this fantasy of my older days, painting or sculpting or making things. But right now, it's about getting the work done and getting home to family. I have an adventure every morning getting up.

On misunderstanding evaporating: Angie and I do not fight anymore. What occurred to me on this film, and also with the passing of her mother - actress Marcheline Bertrand in 2007 - is that there's going to come a time when I'm not going to get to be with this person anymore. I'm not going to get to be with my children anymore. … And so, if we have a flare-up, it evaporates now.

On paparazzo pix and exclusive pix for charity: I don't want to waste time being angry at someone I love. It (New York Times - Jolie Article) sounded to me like the story made Angie out to be manipulative in some way. … She is savvy. But one of the things I'm most proud of is that not only did these guys who follow us and make our lives miserable and get in my kids' faces, not only did they not get the money, but it went to people who really need it.

On his children birth pix bounty: When it came to the birth of our children, a huge bounty was placed on their heads. And people were going to go to incredible lengths to get it.

Bush Equals Nero

After 8 years of awful stewardship, the economy is toppling. Like a fifty car pile-up, industries are slamming on the brakes trying to avoid the housing / financial / manufacturing crisis. For nearly every member of Obama's cabinet, there will be a mammoth all-consuming problem to overcome. The state department has the Middle East, Iran, Pakistan, and Russia to contend with. The Treasury Department has the financial crisis. Homeland Security has to deal with the war on terror. The Defense Secretary has Iraq and Afghanistan. The Justice Department has, well, justice itself. The EPA has global warming, and Commerce has to deal with the fact that the US doesn't make anything any more.

Unfortunately, we only have one president at a time. And this is what he's doing.

This administration is actually setting a record for number of portraits painted. Nearly everyone in the White House is getting one! And check out what CNN reports Bush is devoting his time to:

... [P]lanning for his post-presidential year began more than two years ago. In many ways, the process is in full swing.

Fundraising and planning for his presidential library, to be built on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, is well under way. The president has started interviews with high-profile journalists, by all accounts already trying to define his legacy.

You're worried about your legacy? Mr. President, let me tell your legacy is: Nero!. That's right, the emperor who fiddled while Rome burned—or at least that's what he's rumored to have done. Aside from that, though, he wasn't half bad as emperor. Actually, as far as Roman Emperors go, W. is way closer to Commodus.

Commodus was the first Emperor in a while to succeed his father, Marcus Aurelius. He had little interest in the administration of Rome and instead let a series of cronies run most of it. This was punctuated by failed coups, which would renew his interest in governance—specifically tyrannical governance. By most historians' accounts, his reign was the beginning of the end of the Roman Empire.

And this president has the audacity to compare himself to Lincoln. Lincoln was hated by the South because he overturned their way of life, but in the North he was hailed as a genius in his own time. His stump speeches were hailed as brillliant at the time. The Gettysburg Address was instantly canonized. Upon his death, his secretary of war Edwin Stanton remarked: "Now he belongs to the ages." Make no mistake, true genius is appreciated in its own time. And so is idiocy.

This hall is a 3 level auditorium, along with a seating capacity of 2,955. Spectators of this tour were also lucky enough to see the likes of The Spill Canvas, The Hush Sound, and Augustana preform.

What sets aside OneRepublic from most any other rock group or artist is their distinctive use of hip-hop and RnB drum beats and patterns, which is almost unheard of the rock genre.

Robert Pattinson @ Little Ashes - Trailer

Twilight actor Robert Pattinson portrays Salvador Dali in director Paul Morrison's Little Ashes, in 1922 Madrid, bohemian lifestyles are flourishing - from the arrival of jazz music to the en vogue teachings of Sigmund Freud. As the tale opens, Salvador Dali is only 18, but his dreams of artistic glory lie poised in front of him; his outré personality and social attitudes soon draw the full-fledged attention of two from the in-crowd - Lorca and Buñuel.

For a temporary period, the three become the most "in" clique in all of Spain and find themselves virtually defining the currents of modernism; then Buñuel hearkens off to Paris, however, and Salvador and Federico are thrust together even closer than before - so close that one night, their relations suddenly cross the line from platonic friendship to something far more intimate.

The $3,400,000 Little Ashes hits theaters on March 27. Robert Thomas-Pattinson is repped by Stephanie Ritz @ Endeavor and manager Nicholas Frenkel @ 3 Arts Entertainment. Paul Morrison is repped by Lucy Stille @ Paradigm.

The smoky French bistro setting shoot with sepia-toned images evoking a Brassai atmosphere was shot at Figaro restaurant on North Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles.

Louis Vuitton's Creative Director's Marc Jacobs was inspire by Madonna's Paris Concert: I just blurted out, I think we should do Madonna. I was totally just blown away by it, and moved by her performance, by what she had to say, and her energy.

As cliché as they are, I love all these French reference.

I still feel it looks like beautiful, gorgeous Madonna. Excepting the references and excepting the clichés, this still feels very today. And it didn’t feel so much like a fashion shoot, it feels like portraits.
