Artist Jeanne-Claude Died @ 74
The 74-year-old artist Jeanne-Claude - wife and collaborator of American artist Christo - died on Wednesday, November 18 from the complications of a ruptured brain aneurysm. Jeanne-Claude is loved by art lovers, and my condolences and thoughts go out to Jeanne-Claude's family and friends.
Ms. Jeanne-Claude was well-known as the co-creator of The Gates in February 2005. Christo and Jeanne-Claude constructed 7,503 gates with free-hanging saffron orange fabric panels in Central Park [New York City]. The Gates was estimated to have brought in approximately 4 million patrons and $254 million revenue to New York City.
