Jonathan Demme's Rachel Getting Married
I am literally obsessed with Toni Morrison's posthumous slavery novel - Beloved - and Jonathan Demme's incredible direction of the film and Danny Glover and Ms. Winfrey's great performances in the underrated picture. But I'm here to sell you on Director Jonathan Demme's new film - Rachel Getting Married which stars Anne Hathaway, Tunde Adebimpe, Debra Winger and Rosemarie DeWitt - and urge you to watch it when it opens in theaters on Friday.
Mr. Demme and Ms. Hathaway attend Variety screening of Rachel Getting Married at the Landmark Sunshine Theatre in New York City.
Rachel Getting Married: When Kym returns to the Buchman family home for the wedding of her sister Rachel, she brings a long history of personal crisis and family conflict with her. The wedding party's abundant cast of friends and relations have gathered for an idyllic weekend of feasting, music and love, but Kym--with her black-comic one-liners and knack for bombshell drama--is a catalyst for long-simmering tensions in the family dynamic.
Rachel hits theaters on Friday, October 3. Mr. Demme is repped by Jeff Berg @ International Creative Management and a principal contributor in the company - Clinica Estetico.
