Synopsis: The film spans several decades about a fledgling writer, Briony Tallis, who, as a 13-year-old, irrevocably changes the course of several lives when she accuses her older sister's lover of a crime he did not commit.

Atonement is written by Christopher Hampton, based on Ian McEwan's novel, directed by Joe Wright (Pride & Prejudice), and stars James McAvoy, Keira Knightley, Saoirse Ronan, Brenda Blethyn, Vanessa Redgrave and Romola Garai.
